Debut novel for sea captain's descendant. Abergavenny Chronicle 23 November 2017

Thank you to Bob Rogers for this piece in last week's Abergavenny Chronicle. This launch will be one of three launches:

7 December, Embassy of Chile, London

15 December, The Chapel, Market Street, Abergavenny

16 December, Cardigan Castle

The adventures of a Welsh sea captain who finds himself embroiled in the turbulence of the 1891 Chilean Civil War forms the subject of a debut novel by his Abergavenny-based great great grandniece.
Rhiannon Lewis, originally from Cardigan but now living in Llanvetherine, was inspired by the experiences of her great-great uncle, Captain David Jefferson Davies, who spent most of his life sailing the coast of Chile. And now Rhiannon has chosen her adoptive home for the Welsh launch of the book, ‘My Beatiful Imperial’.
Rhiannon studied Welsh, English and drama at Aberystwyth University and spent five years as a teacher and lecturer. After gaining a master’s degree in education, she went on to work in public relations, marketing and communications.
The book launch takes place at the Chapel, Market Street, Abergavenny on December 15 at 7pm.
